A seat count is only the starting point
Bring your normal passenger plan to the comparison. Will adults use the last row on long journeys, or will it be an occasional option? Adjust the front seats first, then check the second and third rows with the positions you would actually use.
Look at headroom, knee room, foot space and the reach to useful controls. Try getting into and out of the last row while parked. Ask which seating arrangement is fitted to the individual SUV, since a model name alone does not confirm its configuration.
Check child-seat use and access together
For child restraints, read both the vehicle and car-seat instructions and confirm the permitted seating positions and attachment points. NHTSA recommends selecting a restraint that fits the child and vehicle. Ask a qualified car-seat technician for help when the installation needs clarification.
Consider how passengers reach the last row when the household's restraints are installed. Do not assume a seat can slide or fold with a restraint attached. Confirm the approved operation in the manufacturer's instructions before relying on that access route.
Try the cargo layout with passengers aboard
Check the space behind the upright third row for your stroller, luggage or shopping. Fold seats only if you will not need them occupied. A large cargo figure with every rear seat folded may tell you little about a full-family trip.
Measure items that must fit and check the opening as well as the floor area. During a showroom visit, compare loading effort and visibility. Picasso Imports can confirm the seating configuration and availability of a current SUV before you travel.
