Measure the load before the truck
List the items you regularly carry and measure the longest and widest ones. Think about how they need to travel, not just whether they could fit diagonally once. Include any toolbox or other equipment that would occupy part of the bed.
At the vehicle, check usable floor length, the width between wheel wells and the tailgate opening. Confirm measurements on the exact truck rather than assuming every short or long bed uses the same dimensions. Check whether installed accessories change the available space.
Compare the cab and parking fit together
A bed does not travel separately from the cab. Try the passenger arrangement you need, then consider the complete truck's length and turning space. Measure your garage or regular parking area and include the clearance needed to walk around and use the tailgate.
During a test drive, use a suitable route that helps you judge visibility and maneuvering. Check loading height while parked and think about access to items near the cab. An occasional large load may lead to a different choice from equipment carried every working day.
Keep dimensions separate from weight limits
A load fitting in the bed does not establish that it is within the truck's carrying limits. Consult the vehicle labels and manufacturer instructions for payload, loading and securing cargo. Ask about the actual configuration and any changes made to the truck.
Compare bed length, passenger needs and the permitted load as separate checks on your shortlist. Contact Picasso Imports to confirm measurements or arrange a visit for a current listing. Bring your load dimensions so the discussion can focus on the work you need the truck to do.
